An Open Letter to A Young Woke Revolutionary

Let me begin by saying that I know you better than you may think. I am the child of 60’s radicals. In high school I marched in the streets chanting “Women have died because of Hyde” and grew up to lecture people on the plight of the environment and challenged law enforcement on its treatment of indigenous people. I was even once hounded out of a bar for being a leftist. In short, I was progressive when progressive wasn’t cool.

Many years ago, before some of you were even born, I made a trip with a church group to Cambodia. It was what is known as an “awareness mission.” The purpose it was to acquaint us with the horrors of human trafficking so that we might spread the message of the dangers this practice and the nightmarish effect it has on its victims, both directly and indirectly. In no way should the impacts of such a vile and loathsome practice be diminished. But that is another column for another time.

One of the things we did while in Cambodia was tour the killing fields. Chances are good that being a product of your times you have no idea who Pol Pot was, or the results his brand of socialism had on that tiny country. And you have never heard about the millions of men, women and babies who perished in some of the most abominable ways the mind can conceive. But perish they did, and I have seen the photographs of murdered innocents and their bones stacked upon one another in the memorials that dot the country. I encourage you to look beyond the history you have been taught and research the legacy of the Khmer Rouge for yourself. It may upend some preconceived notions you have about revolutions, but growth involves coping with ideas that may be at odds with the ones you find comforting.

One of the killing fields we visited was a prison known as S-21, or Tuol Sleng. It was a former boarding school converted into nothing less than a concentration camp for those who opposed the socialist policies of the Khmer Rouge. Or those who had been merely accused or suspected of doing so. I have seen the bloodstains from the tortures inflicted by the Khmer Rouge. I have seen the metal bed frames where people were electrocuted. I have seen the scaffolding from which the victims were hung and dunked headfirst into vats of human excrement. I have seen trees that were literally bent by the impact of Khmer Rouge soldiers repeatedly beating them with infants. And I have seen the skulls.

All of this was done in the name of Cambodia’s own “great reset.” All of this was done to “right wrongs.” All of this was done for the “greater good.” You see, no one commits an act of evil in the name of evil. Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, all murdered millions in the name of high and lofty ideals. And many followed Pol Pot in the quest for a socialist utopia. People were arrested, imprisoned, and murdered not just for their political views, but for the crime of wearing glasses since glasses could be an indicator that a person might be educated and therefore a threat. Owning a radio or even too much cloth or food could get result in an arrest.

But an odd thing happened. At one point, like any regime such as Pol Pot’s, based on accusations, arrests and incrimination you eventually run out of villains. Or you run very low on them. But the problem is that by this point, there exists a society based on exposing enemies. That of course means you need a steady supply of violators to keep the machine properly oiled. In the case of Cambodia, the Khmer Rouge guards who had so enjoyed caging and torturing their victims soon discovered that someone had turned them in. They found themselves occupying the same cells they had watched over, and suffering through the very tortures they had savored inflicting. No one is safe in a situation like that, no matter how loud you may proclaim your loyalty. Eventually, the Khmer Rouge, the SS, KGB or Stassi comes for you.

Take J.K. Rowling. She is no right-winger, no matter how far you stretch the imagination. No matter that she announced that Dumbledore was gay, or the Sirius Lupin actually represented people who lived with AIDS. None of that mattered the moment she deviated from the party line about gender. You loved her stories up until the someone told you not to. She was cancelled or “made to disappear” and her books were burned.

Hitler made people disappear and burned books. Fascists make people disappear and fascists burn books. If you want to adopt the practices of the people you pretend to oppose, there is little anyone can do to stop you. But know this: If you follow this line of thinking to its logical conclusion you are damning yourself to a life of servitude. You must be ready to think and act exactly as the party tells you, and you must consistently guard yourself against independent thought. Wherever the party leads, you must be ready to follow. Far from being free, you will actually find yourself at the whim of forces far beyond your control. And you can bet someone will be watching to see if you begin to think for yourself… and they will take full advantage of it.

And you will find yourself in the latest incarnation of S-21.

So, beware. Once you have eliminated us, once you have liquidated, imprisoned or re-educated the last of the so-called patriarchy, your troubles will only be beginning. Look to your left and look to your right. One of those people may be the one who slits your throat.

THE AMERICAN CIVIL LIBERTIES UNION (Founded 1920)

In 1924, a book by R. M. Whitney called The Reds in America made its appearance. The American Civil Liberties Union founded by Upton Sinclair had by that time become an important branch of the Third International so Mr. Whitney gave several pages to a description of its organization and methods. All these would be quoted here were it not that space forbids. Our chief object in including this minor society among those already mentioned is to show the methods whereby Communism is rendered palatable to those whose world it would destroy. 

 " The American Civil Liberties Union owes its existence to the notorious pacifist organizations of war-time fame, which were presumably financed by German agents in this country working desperately, and for a time successfully, to keep the United States from entering the war. To be sure, in its present form it has existed only since January 12, 1920, when it was formed as an outgrowth and with the merging of various organizations which were developed during the World War, dating from October, 1914, and the members of which were pacifists, defeatists, German agents, radicals of many hues, communists, I. W. W. and Socialists. Among the organizations included in the merger were such pacifist bodies as the American League to Limit Armaments,. Emergency Peace Federation, First American Conference for Democracy and Terms of Peace, People's Freedom Union, People's Council of America, American Union against Militarism, League for Amnesty for Political Prisoners, Civil Liberties Bureau, National Civil Liberties Bureau, American Neutral Conference Committees and Legal First Aid Bureau.

" The activities of this organization are extensive. It assists any radical movement through publications of high standing in order to influence public sympathy toward the radical organizations, furnishing attorneys for radical criminals, conscientious objectors and radical or foreign spies, " bores from within" in churches, religious and labour organizations, Women's Clubs, schools and colleges and the American Federation of Labour, in order to spread radical ideas. The union maintains a staff of speakers, investigators and lawyers who are working in all sections of the country. Lawyers are furnished on short notice wherever a radical criminal gets into trouble. A press clipping service is maintained which keeps the organization in close touch with every radical criminal or group of radical criminals in trouble and immediate financial aid, publicity and counsel is offered. Aiding in this service are some 800 co-operating lawyers, and more than a thousand correspondents and investigators, representing 450 weekly labour, farmer and liberal papers with 420 speakers and writers. 

" The American Civil Liberties Union was particularly active in aiding the Communists caught in the Bridgman, Mich., raid. 

" An office is maintained in Washington with the Federated Press organization to handle matter requiring direct contact with the Government. 

" The policies of the organization are determined by the National Committee and the carrying out of them is left to the Executive Committee which meets weekly. " 

Mr. Whitney quotes the following paragraphs from the 1920 Lusk Committee report concerning the American Civil Liberties Union : 

" An examination, however, of the propaganda and agitation which has been carried on in favor of the forceful overthrow of this Government shows that it does not consist of a mere expression of opinion, but invariably advocates measures for its effectuation. In other words, the representatives of revolutionary Socialists, Communists, Anarchists and other groups, state that by doing certain acts this Government may be overthrown and in each instance the agitator urges his hearers or his readers to commit those acts. It is a well settled principle of law that any reasonable man is responsible for the logical and reasonable consequences of his acts and utterances. 

" While the Constitution of the State of New York guarantees the right of free speech it also contains the warning that the citizen may exercise it " being responsible for the abuse of that right ". The effect of the activities of the American Civil Liberties Union is to create in the minds of the ill-informed people the impression that it is un-American to interfere with the activities of those who seek to destroy American institutions. They seek to influence legislators and executives to repeal or veto any act calculated to protect the State or the Federal Government from the attacks of agitators. " 

After some further analysis this report says : 

" The American Civil Liberties Union, in the last analysis, is a supporter of all subversive movements, and its propaganda is detrimental to the interests of the state. It attempts not only to protect crime but to encourage attacks upon our institutions in every form. 

" The union is closely identified with groups in practically every city in the country known as ' parlor Bolsheviki'. Speakers are furnished for these dilettante radicals whose influence would amount to little, but for the fact that they can be counted upon for financial contributions to any movement that promises them a thrill. It has been said that many idle men and women become identified with this parlor Bolshevik movement through emotionalism and because it gives them something to think about. Whatever the reason, the Communists and the Civil Liberties Union agitators make use of these groups for financial aid and as means of spreading propaganda. 

" It is well known ", as Mr. Whitney further explains, " that the Workers' party, as a branch of the Communist party, has access to the ' sucker lists ' of people who have contributed to the finances of the party in various cities, and besides has ' sucker lists ' of its own which are shared by the Communists. The most remarkable feature of these lists is the number of names of prominent people upon them. "

Naturally most of the people on these ' sucker lists ' have no idea what sort of an organization they are assisting, but their money assists just the same ! Hazy notions of helping the poor and downtrodden and bettering the condition of the working classes serve to produce the necessary enthusiasm leading to subscriptions.

The Elephant in the Living Room: The Communist Origins of Modern Antifa

Starting from the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia in 1917, all the way to the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1988, communist regimes all over the world killed tens of millions of people. Those mass killings were carried out in the name of equality, democracy and tolerance. Most of those killed were victims of “self-genocide” given that they were mostly victims of their own countrymen. Such criminal communist insanity had been planned to the last detail. Wherever the communist cabal had come into power, i.e., from Mongolia to the Adriatic coast, the most vital part of the population had to be beheaded first.

In an effort to destroy the Christian tradition, communists had to remove the Church and the clergy. During the early communist revolutionary post-World War II fervor, religious leaders were often burned alive, or buried alive, or crucified alive. The Bolsheviks, in 1918, buried alive the Russian Christian Orthodox Bishop Andronicus. In 1937, the Russian theologian, mathematician and inventor, Pavel Florensky, after being subjected to torture, was executed by the Communist authorities. He was one of nameless 750,000 victims of the NKVD (Soviet secret police). He was shot in the neck at the height of the communist repression, later to be known as Stalin’s “Great Purge.” In addition to killing millions of people of various religious denominations (mostly Christians), more than 110,000 clergy of the Russian Orthodox Church were executed. Even the Red Army needed to be partially beheaded. Stalin executed several Soviet marshals, generals and tens of thousands of lower rank officers during the 1936–1937 purges. In 1931, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow, which could accommodate up to 10,000 believers, was blown up by Stalin’s thugs. Books by foreign authors were burned or banned. In 1940, after Stalin had dismembered the Baltic states, literature in vernacular languages in those countries ​​was also banned.

Brainwashing was an integral part of all communist regimes, with psychiatric experiments on prisoners becoming a daily routine. Politically incorrect thinkers were confined to psychiatric wards where they were drugged, tortured and questioned. The Soviet NKVD and, later on, their smaller post-World War II copycat East European outlets shortly after they were established began to experiment with nerve poison, a method used later to “neutralize” political opponents, both at home and abroad. Prisoners were killed by mustard gas, ricin and digitoxin. After years of imprisonment, the Archbishop of the Ukrainian Church Theodore George Romzha was killed by a curare injection.

Nor did communism spare scientists, especially those who had obtained some prominence in the fields of genetics and forensics. The biologist Nikolai Koltsov, a Russian pioneer of modern genetics, became a victim of communist poisoning in 1940. On the same day, his wife committed suicide. Many Soviet pseudo-scientists, including a famed hoaxer Trofim Lysenko, who had rejected Mendel’s laws of heredity, succeeded in setting back for decades all efforts in genetic research in Russia. Some modalities of the Lysenko’s quackery can be observed today among many Antifa and LGTB outlets who claim that gender and race are a matter of free choice and are not influenced by heredity.

In the early days of the communist experiment, the method of weaponizing food against their own people was also widespread, as was observed on the massive scale during the great famine in Ukraine in the 1930s. The mandatory communist slogan in the early 1950s, enforced all over communized Eastern Europe, went something like this: “We shall grow wheat from the heavens so that hungry America and England can see it.” In order to suppress the revolt in May 1950 in the Cazin region of what is today a small slice of northwestern Bosnia, the Yugoslav communist strongman Josip B. Tito, sent units of the Yugoslav National Army to quell the rebellion of starved peasants.

The Memory Hole

Victims of the Communist mass terror don’t seem to be a favored theme of Hollywood movies, docudrama, and TV series. These horrors are presented as little more than a minor footnote in history textbooks. What do graduate students in the West know about Vasily Blokhin, the NKVD executive responsible for the execution of more than 7,000 Polish officers in the spring of 1940? What do Western students know about the fate of Ljudevit Jurak (1881–1945) and Eduard Miloslavic (1884–1952), two Croatian forensic experts who studied the mass graves at Katyn and Vinnitsa, hired in 1943 by the German Wehrmacht to examine the bodies of Poles massacred in 1940 by the Soviet commissars? What do Chinese students, or for that matter Western students, know today about the “Great leap forward” and the “Cultural Revolution” (1966–1976) of Chairman Mao Zedong which nearly destroyed 3,000 years of Chinese history? The dead hand of Marxism and Leninism still extends over the European continent, albeit under the new label of “antifascism.” Former communist affiliates and their latter-day antifa progeny have now rebaptized themselves into Social Democrats and Liberals. Former Yugoslav Titoists and their descendants in Croatia haven’t disappeared; they operate now under different party names, using more digestible parliamentary paraphernalia such as the “HNS” (Croatian People’s Party) the “IDS” (Istria’s Democratic Assembly), and the “HSS” ( Croatian Peasant Party). The much vaunted Council of Europe resolution 1481, adopted in 2006 and condemning communist crimes, remains a dead letter, good enough to assuage the guilty consciences of Brussels bureaucrats.

The communist regimes left not only human, economic and ecological devastation. Communist anthropology has distorted the mental makeup of generations to come. Communism had given birth to a species deprived of any moral values, of any sense of personal responsibility, and of any sense of striving for common good. The Russian writer Alexander Zinoviev called this species an “honest liar.” In November 2019, the Belgrade historian Srdjan Cvetkovic visited Zagreb. At a scientific meeting, sponsored by the Croatian Institute of History he confirmed the long-held public secret that 56,000 Serbs had been killed from 1944 to 1946 in Serbia by the victorious Yugoslav Communists. More than 20% of those killed were under the age of 18. The conference, as was to be expected, was ignored by the mainstream media in Croatia, thus reminding us that the authorities in Croatia and her EU watchdog, are the only ones who decide on the political narrative in the mainstream media. What do children learn now in Croatia about the history of the communist crimes against the Croatian people? Nor do they know anything about the largest ethnic cleansing campaign in European history and the destruction of the German minority in the former Yugoslavia during and after World War II. One must not forget that lies and deception were imprinted in the Bolshevik genetic code. Henceforth their offspring consider themselves as the only genuine interpreters of modern history.

The history of Eastern Europe has been mapped out by countless “Naked Islands,” big or small Gulag archipelagos, foibes, and unexplored mass graves. Almost daily the Croat media report on the newly found mass graves dating back to 1945–46. To this day the ruling class in the West has shown a total lack of personal and legal conscience towards victims of communism. If we give up the search for the truth, we also sign our moral capitulation and we decide to participate in the erasure of our collective memory. It looks, however, that we will have to put up for a much longer time with the communist elephants in our living rooms.

If Marxs' message as reported above was simply "Struggle", man, I feel sorry for Marxists. They have to be the most bitter, disillusioned, disappointed, frustrated human beings around. Struggle brings pain. Pain brings stagnation. Incapacitation leads to depression. Then a sad, lonely death.

This so-called Socialism being promoted by the well-fed lefties is nothing more than centralized controlled capitalism. Why don't they ever call for abolition of the Federal Reserve, the root of all evil? They must be content with the exchange system as it stands, they just want to run it. "Meet the New Boss same as the Old Boss", as Townsend says.

I have seen too much false hope delivered by Trotskyites. They always fail in rallying people because they cynically don't have much of a care for those they express to represent and lead. Democracy is only smoke and mirrors to fool the liberals. Workers are cogs in the machine and when the new machine is built those workers will be placed in the same spot. No more leisure time, nothing special about it. Socialist cops will kick the crap out of you as well, or better, than the ones we have today.

Lovestoneites took over the AFL-CIO and stripped any essence of fight for the American worker. Settling for crumbs from the elites' table is all they are good for, or maybe squashing any dissent on the jobsite on behalf of the employer. All under the deceitful guise of "trade unionism". Staffers of these organizations are like hoodwinked Masons, never knowing what the game really is.

It's not the Revolution I fear, it's the counter-revolution. Health Care For All will be replaced by fear of survival. The pension crisis will be solved by supra-accelerated attrition. Food will be harvested by slave labor (slave labor being the instance communism and capitalism have in common). The one train will run on time. The oligarchs will still run the show and have a Party while doing it.

What exactly are Marxists struggling for? More struggle? I have to find another way or my mental health will deteriorate more than it has. I have to learn to deal with the pathological sickness of this society on a day to day basis and stop struggling for some perceived better future for all; all dreams and all false. I have to be released from struggle in order to find peace while carrying a deep concern for my loved ones around me, and with what is left, for those in the circle outside them. It's time for some redesign of collective thought because the old templates of organization in the working class have been co-opted and corrupted. The power is not in the myth of the Party, working class power is in our minds and our willingness to change the deeply held ideology of capitalism/competition/consumerism that is destroying our lives.
