"Freedom Isn't Free"
I always bristled when I heard this. It never made sense. Reading the dictionary can be fun. I learned the 'dom' part of the word represents "Dominion". Yes, you are free in someone's Dominion, or plantation, if you will. If you leave and cross the imaginary line, you can potentially be 'not free'. Sort of an inverse slavery.
And for you Pollyanna's out there - the Rulers of the Dominion are not "elected", no more than African slaves picking who gets to live in the Big White House on the hill in Antebellum South.
"God (,) Bless America"
Only arrogant Americans would order God around. How about a simple request, maybe a Please. I'm sure God gets a lot of requests, I can't say if God likes to get Bossed around. I sure don't like it.
"Every Vote Counts"
Imagine there is a pile of approximately 200 million toothpicks, red ones and blue ones. How do we get an accurate count? One separates the pile according to color and starts by picking one up and saying "one", then another and say "two", etc. But Wait! Let's make a machine that can do that drudgery. The results are in - very close. We will have to count the votes by hand. The machine can't be trusted, and rightfully so.
"Mail-in Balloting"
Imagine your whole personage reduced to a piece of paper. In the chain of custody, very important legally, you are woman/manhandled by dozens of people along the way, as if you are in line at the polling place being groped and goosed throughout the process. You might be kicked under the counting machine or accidentally torn in half. Any old way you look at it, you will be corrupted and abused. Then again, people seemed to be comfortable with that in their life.
"The USA is the Greatest Country In The World"
One of the greatest sops in the world, wielded like a hammer at all who disagree. Basically, I can agree with the sentiment. Only it's become the greatest country in the world for deadbeats, drug addicts and those sucking on the State's tits. For those hardworking, honest, tax paying citizens, it's getting to really suck.
