...In 1952, “oxygen deprivation experiments” were also conducted on American soldiers at Edgewood Arsenal under the direction of Hoffmann and Dr. Karl Tauboeck, an IG Farben chemist who had also researched truth serums and nerve gases for the Nazi SS. Albarelli notes that, although the results of the experiments remain secret, he cites a CIA memorandum (April 11, 1952) where its effects were described: “… affects the higher brain centers, resembling alcoholic inebriation. Some subjects became exhilarated, talkative, or quarrelsome, with emotional outbursts or fixed ideas. Some complained of headache or numbness. Voluntary coordination and attention are impaired… burns and bruises are not noticed.” [57] (bold, EWS)

Tavistock Insitute doctor William Sargant who also worked on MK-Ultra;
... Various beliefs can be implanted in many people after brain function has been sufficiently disturbed by accidentally or deliberately induced fear, anger, or excitement. Of the results caused by such disturbances, the most common one is temporarily impaired judgement and tightened suggestibility. Its various group manifestations are sometimes classed under the heading of “herd instinct,” and appear most spectacularly in wartime, during severe epidemics, and in all similar periods of common danger, which increase anxiety and so individual and mass suggestibility.[67] (bold, EWS)
