What irks me is the Trump hating, "he's Hitler", "he's a dictator" pansy ass Democratic types, that when Trump acts like Hitler and a dictator they do exactly as he says. No resistance or questioning at all. Snapping at his heels by self-righteous reporters is not resistance. The Dem politicians gladly raided the Treasury, their only complaint was it wasn't enough. Democratic governors, attorney generals and mayors spout edicts and clamp down on "their" territories. The people cowardly submit.

A babbling, demented old man is the Dems leader, leading to an 80% win by Trump in November. (Totally stumped on that one ...EWS 02/24/2021) The guy who puts us under a martial law, raids the government Treasury, throws a 1200 dollar bone will be Our Leader. It's all been planned that way. It's War Time!

He'll be helped by those pathetic types that think a New York crypto-Jew billionaire has their interest in mind. These folks can be even more obnoxious than a Trump hater. It's all entertainment, just presented as politics.

Get off the thinking there is political opposition at the top. Please shake out of your brain these Representatives of the Republic work for "the people". Smash your idiotic egoism that they want your opinion and your vote counts. It never has and it never will. The debates, the campaign, the constant media coverage of corrupted souls called candidates is a Truman Show. Snap out of it.

But it's too late. The hive mind is here. Thinking for myself I'm akin to being a black footed ferret. Soon I'll be Kevin McCarthy and an open mouthed Snatched will be pointing at me and screaming. I'm living in The Village of the Damned. The authorities will grab me, drug me, rewire my brain to compliance.

Come to think of it, I really do love Big Brother.

Just A Day At Work*

I worked over twenty years on many construction jobsites. I used a portable plastic shithouse every day, several times a day, sharing it with, sometimes, 100’s of men. Always disgusting, at the refineries some were neglected for months it seemed. This was through the AIDS/HIV epidemic, several Hepatitas B and C alerts, and, of course, flu season every winter. No one thought anything was unusual otherwise conditions would have changed.

Early in one project I was given the assignment to install the emergency lights about 15 feet above the “Siamese” water connection. In every commercial building this exists on the ground floor by a parking lot or alley, very accessible. The fire engine is needed, the firemen connects the hoses to the “Siamese” connection. The blinking lights I was installing was to call to the incoming fire truck and promote efficiency delivering the water onto the fire. Hmmm, I said.

“You mean we have water in this building?”

“Sure, it’s the first thing installed. The Fire Department and insurance company wouldn’t allow us to work here without it. It wouldn’t be safe.”

“We could build a place with porcelain toilets and sinks with running water to wash our hands?”

“That isn’t in the General Contractor’s bid.”

“With plumbers, carpenters, electricians and laborers on sight, we have to use the portable plastic shithouses through the entirety of this project?”

“Yeah. You know how it is.”

Until someone tells me otherwise, that is the condition today.

You know who is going to make out on this phony pandemic? Plumbers. The current joke is how much they cost for their services. Now you want them to come in your house and replace your broken toilet or clean your drain or sewer pipe? They are going to charge you up the ying/yang. I'm currently reading a book on Hurricane Katrina and the Gulf Coast 2005. The storm just happened, and the Coast Guard and volunteer rescue and recovery missions are being sent into New Orleans. There isn't a mention of worry about the germ safety to the first responders. Wading titty deep in sewer water, unknown chemicals, sludge, mud, it seems the human body is pretty resilient. Typhoid, dysentery, cholera are all known pathogens, the people in a REAL life catastrophe acted with bravery, endurance and compassion, not worrying a scant.

The Federal Government fell flat on their faces. Disorganized, a week or more of time to respond. FEMA's response was pathetic.

Now the G seems to be totally on top of the situation fighting an invisible bugaboo.

Perhaps there is a Malthusian aspect and the flu is supposed to take away our sick, elderly and weak. The flu kills thousands of unhealthy people every year.

Why would anyone think the G cares? Have they ever told you the Truth?

Investment Advice*

Sector investing is the idea of placing your money in certain parts of the economy. I offer these thoughts to the "Buy low, sell high" thinkers out there.

There is no point in investing in ingenuity, hard work or American Can-Do spirit. The money is to be made in investing in the stupidity of the public. They will not let you down. Buying stock in Kentucky Fried Chicken because of its tender high quality meat, tasty flavorings or crunchy batter is crazy. You are going to get a return because stupid people eat crap food. Any fast food establishment is an example, I just picked KFC.

Now the elites have skimmed the current stock market froth off like a bartender knife over a just poured stout. Your next pint will be a little shorter on volume and may cost a bit more. No worries, there is a lot of stupid, frightened and sinner stock to find at a good price.

The Stupid – I’ll assume the ‘antidote’ for the virus will be manufactured by our great pals, the Israelis. Let’s call this shot the “Liberty vaccine”. Oh! How The Stupid will line up around the block, kids in tow, to be relieved of worry of ever catching the disease again. The MD on the TV with the white coat and stethoscope will assure them “it is the right thing to do”. No matter the cure will kill more people than the virus, The Stupid will be putting the virus in their body circumventing their immune systems, and future cancers and ailments won’t be ascribed to the vaccination. Congress, conveniently, removed tort liability from the product.

I want to invest in that company creating the Liberty vaccine.

The Frightened – While one can be stupid and frightened, this category is for the passive-aggressive, the blustering, the chauvinist and jingoist. I’m talking War Stocks. After the next phony election, it is full steam ahead war machine and my guess the target is Venezuela. Too much oil, too close, and they are in disarray politically. The media beats the war drums and the Frightened send their sons and daughters (mostly sons) to die for “freedom”, “democracy” or some such blather. Sure, General Dynamics, Raytheon, Halliburton are easy vehicles for some return, but in this case I’m looking for the big bucks. I want to invest in the company that offers the most murderous, oppressive and tyrannical product ever made, real cruel and destructive of not only property, but of human spirit as well. And while the poor people of Venezuela will be hit with “democracy bombs” from above, I’m seeking a War Stock that acts domestically, something like para-military corporation, a Blackwater perhaps, that will be running the internment camps.

You know, the prison guards, my fellow citizens, like TSA only brutal, private and corporate. That's gotta be good investment.

The Sinner – One the more awe-inspiring aspect of this whole CoVid charade was the closing of the casinos. You’ve got a line of chumps ready to give you all their money and you lock the doors? That’s a bad business plan. So, today and every day, they have been disinfecting and wiping down all the buttons on the slot machines making everything extra bright and shiny for the returning mooks. It will all be compromised one minute after the doors open and the resultant elephant charge of gamblers enter. I want to invest in casinos.

The same could be said of Cruise lines. As soon as the TV says, “OK, fatties, the buffet is open”, they will be in line up on the swayback gangplank eager to eat and eat and eat. The return may take a little longer than the casinos, but it will happen. People love to cruise (and eat).

I only wish I was even more cynical as a young man. Idealism was such a waste of energy and time, the returns for that were so disappointing.

The Old Bait and Switch

Consider, for a moment, what ideas Americans seem to have generally accepted in the last few weeks.

First, there seems to no longer be a question as to whether or not the government has a responsibility to ensure health care for American citizens. The prospect of some hospitals, in some specific locales, exceeding health care capacity has caused the bulk of the American economy, at the behest of government, to simply stop functioning in order to avoid it. In other words, the health of a comparative few is of far greater importance than the personal, financial, and social interests of the many. If we accept that as gospel and the creed of our governance, as it seems we have, then how is Medicare-for-All anything less than a moral imperative?

Secondly, there no longer seems to be any question as to whether our government needs to act swiftly and decisively to defend against an invisible threat which presents an unknown, and unknowable, future impact, even if that means destroying American free enterprise, and the lives and livelihoods of countless millions. Green New Deal, anyone?

Thirdly, this crisis appears to have nullified any devotion to the concept of individual liberty among Americans. A friend in Chicago tells me that he and his young daughters daren’t risk even walking to the park that his tax dollars built, as he risks a $500 fine for doing so. The stiffest resistance encountered by the government officials imposing these infringements upon law-abiding citizens is the quiet grumbling that exists beneath all these loud sermons about “social distancing” and “flattening the curve.”

And finally, as Americans are left unable to care for themselves because the government is prohibiting their free association in the economic marketplace, the government is now facilitating a massive transfer of wealth from taxpayers as cash payments to Americans below certain income thresholds.

... Americans are being asked to not only accept unnecessarily rigid social restrictions, but to also accept an indefinitely disabled economy for as long as the government sees fit, even though its continued disability has the potential to destroy our free enterprise system and fundamentally alter the American citizen’s relationship with the government.

To justify all of this, Americans are routinely presented the false metaphor that we are at war, and that this war requires sacrifices on our part. But millions of Americans aren’t enduring economic strife, social anxiety, and government-imposed quarantines because modern-day Nazis are looking to enslave humanity. No, we are enduring all of those things as a result of our blanket government policy responses to this pandemic, which apparently require bigger, broader, and more dangerous government policy responses to rectify.

... Like viruses, the freedom-strangling ideas of socialists require specific conditions to thrive. And without question, this is just that sort of environment. As oppressive government policies, and not the practical ravages of this novel coronavirus, are creating financial and social anguish among the vast majority of Americans, it becomes increasingly likely that Americans may grow not only to accept, but to expect even more government-provided care and sustenance at the expense of our natural liberty.

When it comes to what we we’ve seen so far in the government and public response to this pandemic, what is there for the socialist ideologues on the Left not to love?

Gullible AND Stupid

Why are Americans So Gullible?

I have some some family members who are literally shaking in their boots, absolutely terrified of getting this "virus". When I told them the whole thing is a hoax it was like stepping into a pool of piranha fish. Now they're bombarding me with hourly emails detailing how many new people have been diagnosed. They seem to be reveling in every new case and death, because it reinforces their opinion and "proves" that I am wrong.

While standing in line for an hour waiting to buy a roll of toilet paper, I asked myself why so many Americans allow themselves to be duped.

Have you ever wondered about that? It's quite amazing.

We have an entire media comprised of television, radio, newspapers, magazines and the internet that has been outright lying to us about every single news story for the past 80 or more years, yet suddenly here they are, finally telling us the truth.

And we're supposed to believe them. Of course, most people don't realize they've been lied to for 80 or more years. They swallow whatever the media tells them, no matter how ridiculous.

So what is it about humans that makes them so gullible?

One reason is an absolute faith in authority. Or so-called authority.

I had a friend who was the poster boy for this. If I told him something, well, it was only my opinion and probably an erroneous one at that.

But if someone in a white coat or someone appearing on television dressed in a suit and tie told him the exact same thing, then it was gospel, and couldn't I see it?

I suspect tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions, of people are this exact same way.

Closely coupled with a belief in authority is a need to be accepted by others; a deep psychological need not to be criticized or ostracized from the pack.

It's been said that public speaking is a person's greatest fear, but I think people fear social ostracism more than anything. Even more than death.

THE DOCTOR RACKET

I've had close to a dozen conversations with people who told me their doctor had given them a terminal sentence, usually between three and six months to live. In every case the conversation has gone like this:

Me: "You know, you don't have to die. All you have to do is make a few simple lifestyle changes. First, get off all your drugs and medications. Second, get rid of all your junk food and go on a 100% organic diet. There are other things, as well, but start with those two."

Them: "Oh, I couldn't do that. My doctor would have a fit."

Me: "You just told me your doctor says you're going to die."

Them: "Yes, well, I still can't do anything so rash as you're suggesting."

Me: "Do you want to live, or do you want to be a good patient and die?"

Them: "I'm sorry, I'm going to hang up now. This conversation is making me uncomfortable."

In every case they were good patients, doing everything exactly as they were told.

In every case they died.

Fear is the driving force behind blind faith in authority. It's what cripples people and prevents them from behaving in any way that's different from the crowd. Does intelligence also play a part?

I believe it does, although I do know a lot of otherwise intelligent people who swallow whatever lie the media tells them. After 9/11, they hung flags from their cars and houses, and were 100% behind whatever military action our president suggested. Over the last two weeks, they've been the first ones to rush to Costco, hoard as much toilet paper and water as their cart could carry, and then shout down anyone who got in their way or questioned the legitimacy of what the media was telling them.--

Questioning the media also takes time and work. It's much easier now with the internet, but it still requires a time investment. It also requires actual thinking. Yes, thinking can be hard work. Look how much easier it is to default to the stupidity of the mob.

It also requires personal responsibility.

George Bernard Shaw said, "Liberty means responsibility. That is why most men dread it."

It's much easier to turn on the boob tube and let others tell you how to think and how to behave.

A belief in the strength of numbers also comes into play. After all, tens of millions of people all believing the same thing can't be wrong, can they? History has shown us that almost without exception, yes, they are all wrong.

It's tough going through life while having both love and disdain for your fellow man. Love for their hearts; disdain for their cowardice, stupidity and refusal to think for themselves.

Sadly, I don't see anything changing in the near or far future. That is, if we have any future at all.
