I must admit, Trump is funny. It’s the life of an actor to have those skills. 

I tuned in to see enough of VP Pence’s introduction to realize he is one scary man. As far as warming up the crowd and ass-kissing in a most exponential way, touting success in the economy I personally don’t see in my town, his wind up at the end sent shivers down my spine. Saying in his best down home Pentecostal preacher voice “I have faith. And I will follow him.” I assume he meant Him, but that means DJT, seems the same in his mind. But 4 stars for presentation and drama in the propaganda sense. 

These rallies do have a Third Reichian quality and I’m the last person that hurls the “just like Hitler’ scenario. In the terms of theater and political agitation, they are very effective. Even though I’m one of millions tuning in, it seems I’m on the inside of a very special group. When major news ignores a sitting President’s address to the people, however partisan it is, it gives a feeling of belonging. This illusion is created, of course. The rulers of the economy are going to give what the populist platitude spewing Judas Goat of actor/leader and his adoring ‘common man’ want and then pull the rug from under them, crashing the stock market and showing everyone who is Boss. 

The Democrat Party is doing everything in its’ power to lose the upcoming election and it’s no accident. Using Orange Man’s description of his ‘opponents’ – “Low IQ Maxine Waters”, “Sleepy Joe Biden doesn’t even know what state he is in”, Elizabeth Warren is Pocahontas, has a big mouth and is crazy, Buttigieg “I dream about him at night” and the evergreen Barack HUSSEIN Obama. How can you not agree with Trump that, “The Democrats have nothing” and “They are bad people that do not represent you.” That is according to script. 

His 80 minute presentation was a tour-de-force of sarcasm and confidence, while yelling “Brooklyn” at all times. I guess that is what a political rally is supposed to be. In a society that needs constant entertainment; finally we have a Catskill refugee that can deliver the lines. Maybe it’s why the Industry killed stand-up comics to make way for Him. He has some great writers from the Tribe – Shiff, Nadler, Goldman, et.al. – to provide material. His Lenny Brucian extended “Lisa, I love you so much…” bit was troubling and made me uneasy, but so did Lenny Bruce – and he was funny.  He doesn’t take any prisoners, that’s for sure, calling Ambassador Sondlund “corrupt”, mocking Shifty Schiff’s press conference appearance and slamming him with derisive description again and again and saying “there are good people in the FBI, but not in leadership positions.” 

Who created this Phantom Menace ‘Bag Daddy’. James Brown sang Papa Got A Brand New Bag. The intelligence office that made up that name must laughing their asses off. What was disturbing was both Pence and Trump salivating with delight recreating the hokey scenario that went down. It plays into the worst of the crowd, which, of course, they loved. As expected, a vocal demonstrator on cue interrupted and was escorted out to the congratulation of law enforcement. 

One telling quote – out of context, I concede – was “The Republican Party has never been so united because they understand it’s all a hoax.” The use of the words ‘hoax’ and ‘fraud’ could have been used as a drinking game like when W said ‘freedom and ‘liberty’. These actors really do tell you what they are doing, but not for those “Who have eyes and do not see and ears that do not hear.” That was the real Him that said that.

As Boris Johnson converted blue collar workers en masse to vote for the British Conservative Party, Trump did the same thing in 2016 in winning the all-important battleground states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin and he will now solidify and expand on those gains in November of 2020 by completely taking away a formerly reliable Democratic voter bloc that they have now lost.

What it's like for a first-timer at a Trump rally

If you've watched rally videos, you already know what makes them so special: it's Trump himself. He is exactly as you see him on the screen — a larger-than-life, uniquely American character, a showman who is nevertheless a person of tremendous substance and accomplishment. He's also a comedian with the perfect timing of any performer who ever appeared on a Borscht Belt (AKA Catskills) stage.

I am a former Navy Airborne Electronic Warfare Officer and a Disabled Vietnam Vet.

A “war hero” doesn’t finish 894th out of 899 in his class and still get stationed at a Navy champagne unit and promoted ahead of all but two of his 898 other classmates.

A “war hero” doesn’t crash three U.S. Navy jets out of sheer incompetence and ineptitude, including two during non-combat training sessions.

A “war hero” doesn’t get written up on drunk-and-disorderly, fraternization, disobeying orders, and insubordination charges more than two dozen times in less than three years. Any other Naval Aviator would have been out of the service and on the street in short order.

A "war hero" doesn't make repeated pro-North Vietnam propaganda broadcasts and come out of captivity weighing just a few pounds less than when he went in while other POWs came out having lost 30%-40% of their pre-captivity bodyweight.

A “war hero” doesn’t get promoted to squadron commander of the air field named after his own grandfather immediately after crashing his third airplane. A “war hero” doesn’t have all the military records that cover his time in Vietnam and all disciplinary actions against him censored and sealed “as a matter of national security.”

A “war hero” doesn’t get 28 medals awarded all after-the-fact “for bravery” for no other reason than being shot down and captured and then go on a celebrity public relations tour because he’s the son of two acclaimed Navy admirals.

A “war hero” doesn’t repeatedly cheat on the wife who’s back in the states waiting for him, and then cheat on her more when he returns to the states, and then divorce and abandon her.

A “war hero” doesn’t systematically vote against every single pay and benefit increase for military and veterans throughout his entire political career, all the while claiming to be “the soldier’s Congressman,” and then take credit for the passage of a G.I. benefits bill he that voted AGAINST.

A “war hero” - McCain III lost jet number one in 1958 when he plunged into Corpus Christi Bay while practicing landings. He was knocked unconscious by the impact coming to as the plane settled to the bottom. McCain’s second crash occurred while he was deployed in the Mediterranean. “Flying too low over the Iberian Peninsula,” Timberg wrote, “he took out some power lines [reminiscent of the 1998 incident in which a Marine Corps jet sliced through the cables of a gondola at an Italian ski resort, killing 20] which led to a spate of newspaper stories in which he was predictably identified as the son of an admiral.”

McCain’s third crash three occurred when he was returning from flying a Navy trainer solo to Philadelphia for an Army-Navy football game. Timberg reported that McCain radioed, “I’ve got a flameout” and went through standard relight procedures three times before ejecting at one thousand feet. McCain landed on a deserted beach moments before the plane slammed into a clump of trees.

A “war hero” does not show by performing a wet start on a aircraft carrier in 1967 which killed 164 Americans and wounded 62 more Americans. Anyone else causing a disaster like this would have been locked up.

McCain’s fifth loss happened during his 23rd mission over North Vietnam on Oct. 26, 1967, when McCain’s A-4 Skyhawk was shot down by a surface-to-air missile. McCain ejected from the plane breaking both arms an d a leg in the process and subsequently parachuted into Truc Bach Lake near Hanoi.

For 23 combat missions (an estimated 20 hours over enemy territory), the U.S. Navy awarded McCain a Silver Star, a Legion of Merit for Valor, a Distinguished Flying Cross, three Bronze Stars, two Commendation medals plus two Purple Hearts and a dozen service medals.

“McCain had roughly 20 hours in combat,” explains Bill Bell, a veteran of Vietnam and former chief of the U.S. Office for POW/MIA Affairs — the first official U.S. representative in Vietnam since the 1973 fall of Saigon. “Since McCain got 28 medals,” Bell continues, “that equals out to about a medal-and-a-half for each hour he spent in combat.

I spent ten years flying in the Navy and ended up with nine medals/ribbons including my Vietnam service, which was about normal for officers who didn't have their Admiral father writing commendations for them.McCain also proved his "character" when he returned from Vietnam to a wife who had been in a horrific auto accident and left disfigured and confined to a wheelchair while waiting faithfully for him for six years. Very shortly after he returned he divorced her and married the "trophy wife" who would enhance his political aspirations.

We called McCain "Songbird" and you will have a hard time finding any Vietnam era Naval Aviator who did not loathe him.
