Trumka's dick

What type of Union members would the Presidential candidates be ?

Mayor Pete is the kind of union member who gets promoted to management as a reward for informing to the bosses about the union during a strike.

Bloomberg is the kind of guy Mayor Pete informs on the union to.

Warren is the union member who never once shows up on the picket line for fear of getting in trouble, but then after the union wins the strike brags about how she led the union to a historic victory, and then gets hired to a leading position at an NGO by putting "union organizer" on her resume.

Klobuchar is the person who calls the police to report that the union picket line is blocking the sidewalk.

Bernie is the union member who always did double shifts of picket duty and was always in the front of the picket line, even when the cops showed up, but also is one who questions certain policies enacted by the Union leadership.

Thank you, David. Spring is coming.

When I See The Day*

Why Put Up With It?:

Everyone can play a role in humanizing the workplace with greater sensitivity to what's really behind that facade

***********************************

Union Workers:

1) Care for their fellow workers more than management's' opinion.

2) Never consider the profitability of the company before a fellow workers' personal problem.

3) Know the names of all their fellow workers' children and family members.

4) Honor the contract as written and negotiate at the proper time.

5) Do not embarrass one another for cheap laughs.

6) Respect the Steward position and the person doing the job.

7) Criticize constructively to ensure improving relationships

8) Use the solidarity power of the group to help disadvantaged people.

9) Do the job assigned with joy and graciousness.

10) Protect and improve job site conditions.

Workers of the World, WTF?

We just do as we are told:

Here's the scheme: Rattner is demanding the bankruptcy court simply wipe away the money GM owes workers for their retirement health insurance. Cash in the insurance fund would be replace by GM stock. The percentage may be 17% of GM's stock - or 25%. Whatever, 17% or 25% is worth, well ... just try paying for your dialysis with 50 shares of bankrupt auto stock.

Honest, I didn't write this one, only wish I did:

Too often, meetings were infused with a rigidity, repetition and joylessness that I contrasted unfavourably with the fun-loving, flexible and empowering ambience I began to discover in Buddhism. Though they are by no means perfect, I was relieved to find that Buddhist communities take basic goodness rather than original sin as a fundamental starting point, and consider identity to be fluid rather than fixed.
