Well, Mr Leibowitz*

I can't help but think what an incredible metaphor this room is for the entire process getting health care and benefits for 9/11 first responders has come to—behind me a filled room of 9/11 first responders and in front of me a nearly empty Congress," "Sick and dying, they brought themselves down here to speak, to no one. Shameful." Jon Stewart
I thank you for your sincere statement, Jon.  It is shameful no one cares anymore.  Did you expect Congress of all people to care?  Why don't you take them to Cuba for medical care, that would be funny.  Oh, right. It's already been done.

Are you rethinking your role in fostering the cognitive dissonance in this country?  A comedian posing as a news anchor for 15 or more years?  Pointing fingers and laughing at everything for a cheap laugh.  Now you are serious, haven't been in your entire public life.  Everything was open to riducule on your show and are you going take responsibility for your dismissive, divissive spawn Colbert, Oliver and Bee?  People now take their schtik as funny.  They are forefront and destructive to rational, concerned thinking. I even blame you for Rachel Maddow.

Saturday Night Live is what represents 'comedy' these days.  Character assassination, overwrought trivial hammerings and bad impersonations.  All for a cheap laugh.  Don't you see, Mr Leibowitz, your role in lowering even the low standards of comedy?  Comedy is weaponized, aimed at your political enemies. And your style and show made it fashionable.  No one takes anything seriously, not when a thousand cuts can be applied. When you get applause, not laughs, it's propaganda.

These first responders may need health care, for sure, but what they really need is the truth.  What is it that they breathed during those few weeks of rescue attempts? Before the melted gold was found and the search stopped?  Nanoparticles, radiation, thermite or what?  Why did all the Scent Dogs die on the same day at Ground Zero?  What caused the building to free fall, Jon?  Pick up that line of thinking.  Be really serious, career ruining serious, and I'll listen.

I do compliment you for your efforts on their behalf.
