Pfleger's Paradox
In Chicago, it seems one Fr. Michael Pfleger, 30-year pastor of St. Sabina Church on the city's South side, is calling for a march to protest the violence in his own community. They plan to walk onto the Interstate 94, called the Dan Ryan Expressway, for a mile and a half July 7. This will call great attention to the causes of guns, gun violence, drug dealing, alcoholism, nicotine addiction, gang affiliation, fatherless households, teenage pregnancy, single motherhood, prison recidivism, roaming violent youth, not to mention, black supremacy cults.
Some questions raised;
1) For 30 years, may I call you Father?, have you made no success in raising moral behavior of the neighborhood? Maybe even worse?
2) In announcing this event in advance, you are alerting the State Police whose jurisdiction it is and planning to interrupt commerce on a Federal Interstate highway. The role of the Chicago Police seems undefined, but guaranteed not very helpful.
3) How can the Archdiocese of Chicago and Cardinal Boofoo give permission to a functionary of a not-all-that-profitable parish and allow such bad PR?
4) Recently while demonstrating against guns, the Good Father's ex-con bodyguard was detained and arrested for carrying an unregistered firearm.
5) Pfleger and company have in the past campaigned to remove liquor stores, certain high alcohol content drinks, cigarette and liquor advertisements on billboards. Have these efforts lowered smoking and drinking consumption in the 'hood?
6) How can a man of the spirit, a Shepard of people, think the State is the cause and solution to his flocks' problems?
7) In this shutdown of a major arterial roadway in the city, ambulances and firetrucks will be detained as the spreading clogging of side streets and trunk line avenues fill with traffic. Will Mr. Pfleger and the Archdiocese be responsible for any fatalities that may occur during the stunt?
8) Or is this another carefully scripted media event, like so many others in recent times, with crisis actors, prepackaged produced video footage, and fawning fog horn of fake news in order to keep the racial war going?
9) Why would anyone follow a Catholic priest? Anywhere?
10) Have the Nation of Islam and Louis X's Scientology pals signed on?
